Altered.La was chosen winner at the MIP Cancún 2016, MIPFormats Pitch, with their reality show, Disconnect. The award was delivered November 18th in Cancun, Mexico. “We are fulfilled and honored for being chosen. We are also surprised by the quality of the projects, and of course, motivated by all the possibilities this opens” stated Marcos Cline, Executive Producer at Altered.La. Disconnect arose from the quest to find a way for the audience to truly participate in a reality show. “It is a competition in which the idea is to put a group of influencers in a house and not allow them to have contact with technology. They are given challeges for them to overcome without using any platform. The participants will be divided in two groups and the audience will vote for the winner. The third part of the show is called Reconnect and allows contestants that have been eliminated to compete with technology to enter Disconnect again” explained Cline. The acknowledgement allows them to present their pitch to the most influential and relevant people in programming, such as Programming Directors, Distributors and Content Buyers throughout Latin America. They will also have special visibility through MIP Cancun’s communication tools, editorial coverage with their media partners, and a free ticket to participate in MIPTV and MIPFormats 2017. “Here, our efforts have been rewarded, and also the strategy we have as a company in the development of our own content” he said to end.
