In the last three years, ever since the morning variety show Tu Desayuno Alegre moved to its new studios in Medley, it has reached important goals including expanding its audience and its distribution to new markets in the region. The show is produced by Venevision Productions in Miami. It airs on Univisión in the U.S. and is distributed by Venevision Internacional to several countries in Latin America.Patricia Gutiérrez, general producer of Tu Desayuno Alegre, spoke to PRODU at the state-of-the-art Venevision Productions facilities in Medley, where the show is produced.One of the challenges was moving to Medley without interrupting production. Another challenge was producing in HD, because we had to set up a temporary control room, but we were able to accomplish it successfully. Another great achievement was the introduction of new talent to rejuvenate the show and attract a larger audience, said Gutiérrez.The hosts of Tu Desayuno Alegre are, from Colombia, Jessica Fox and Ximena Córdoba; from Venezuela, Valentina Patronu; and from Mexico, Carlos Gastellum.When asked about producing segments specifically geared to new media, Gutiérrez said they have been featuring bloopers and host greetings on social media. In three to six months we may start including original segments and some previously aired clips from the show, she added.
