Daniel Otaola, director of Sales and Satellite Signals for Telefe International, has completed 15 years in the industry. Within his most important achievements, Otaola put Telefe on the map in Latin America and the US Hispanic, making it one of the first for paid TV in that market. “We were one of the first pay TV channel in Spanish to be added around 2000, when DIRECTV launched its package in Spanish. For us, the Hispanic market is the most important international market for the development and performance of the network. It’s a signal that’s very watched not only by Argentinians but also by all Latinos. For us, it’s very interesting to be in this market and see how it has grown and continues to grow” he said. Otaola indicated that the company has grown in regards to distribution and that it has been in every Hispanic package since the beginning. “We’re a good alternative for programmers. We believe that the quality and way that our content is picked up by other signals and open channels in Latin America allows us to reach a major audience and helps a lot for the Hispanic market of the US”.Future plans for the network include having a generation of special fiction content and the adaptation of its products to multiple platforms.
