Discovery U.S. Hispanic has revealed its quarterly viewership results for Discovery en Español, making 2Q the networks highest audience performance quarter in the channel’s 14-year history. “This increase in viewership builds upon the network’s solid performance over the last three years and reflects Discovery en Español’s successful commitment to offer Spanish-speaking audiences the best and most relevant content available in the U.S. Hispanic market” said Ivan Bargueiras, general manager of Discovery U.S. Hispanic. The network saw a 15% year-over-year audience increase from 2Q of 2011 for the 18 to 49 demographic. There also underwent a 44% year-over-year growth among women 18 to 49. The ratings resulted in Discovery en Español being ranked as the No. 1 Spanish-language Pay TV network during primetime on both Thursday and Sunday nights. It also held that rank for the 10pm and 11pm timeslots Monday through Sunday. Contributing to the networks success were the shows Maxima seguridad, Policias y coyotes, Fugas extremas, Semana Santa stunt and Monstruos del rio.
