Canal 22 Internacional celebrates International Womens Day with a month of classic and contemporary Mexican films dedicated to telling the life stories of great women. The films will air Friday nights at 11pm on Canal 22 Internacional.Kicking off International Womens Day on Friday, March 8, Canal 22 Internacional premieres Mujeres que Trabajan, the 1953 film directed by Julio Bracho which stars Rosa Quintana, Columba Domínguez, Alberto Carrière and Andrea Palma.On March 15, viewers will see for themselves why the 1991 Mexican/Spanish film Danzón, directed by María Novaro, was nominated for three Ariel Awards (Best Picture, Best Director and Best Original Screenplay) by the Mexican Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and why the film ranked 45 on the 100 Best Films of Mexican Cinema list. The film stars Maria Rojo, Carmen Salinas, Blanca Guerra and Tito Vasconcelos. The 1951 musical comedy, Por Ellas Aunque Mal Paguen, directed by Juan Bustillo Oro, airs on March 22. The film stars Silvia Pinal and Irma Dorantes, with special appearances by Pedro Infante, Fernando Soler and Angel Infante. Wrapping things up on March 29 is Las Coronelas, the 1959 film from director Rafael Baledón. The film stars Martha Roth, Antonio Badu, Andres Soler and Eulalio “Piporro” González.
