Marido en Alquiler star Maritza Rodríguez, Juan Soler and Sonya Smith
The second co-production by Globo and Telemundo, My Dear Handyman (Marido en Alquiler), premiered Tuesday, July 10th, in the United States. Globos executive director of International Entertainment, Guilherme Bokel, who is responsible for supervising the project, as well as executives Ricardo Scalamandré, the director of Globos Center for International Business, and Raphael Corrêa Netto, the executive director of International Business, attended the telenovelas premiere at Telemundo Studios in Miami. My Dear Handyman is based on the original story Looks & Essence (Fina Estampa), which was written by Aguinaldo Silva (Her Own Destiny). The telenovela had one of the largest audiences in recent years, shown during TV Globos primetime, it had an average share of 68% (source: Ibope). The last episode reached 47 rating points, and had a 77% share (source: Ibope). The telenovela has also been wildly successful in the other countries where it has been broadcasted, such as Portugal (SIC), Uruguay (Teledoce) and Ecuador (Ecuavisa). The novela will be licensed by Globo, in partnership with Telemundo Internacional, to the European and African markets, and exclusively by the Brazilian broadcaster to the Asian countries. Globo and Telemundo have already co-produced El Clon (2009), the Hispanic version of The Clone, by Glória Perez, which was licensed to over 50 countries. My Dear Handyman was overseen by Guilherme Bokel, Globos executive director of International Entertainment, with executive production by David Posada and end supervision by Aurelio Valcárcel, executive vice-president of Telemundo Studios Miami.
