ViendoMovies announced that it has acquired the license to feature the film 15 Years and 1 Day. 15 Years and 1 Day by Gracia Querejeta will represent Spain in the nominations for Best Foreign Language at the Oscars, beating out Manuel Martín Cuencas Cannibal, Daniel Sánchez Arévalos La Gran Familia Española and Santiago Zannous Alacrán.Querejeta is drawn by the complicated nature of transitional ages, which she aims to capture in this film. She won a Golden Biznaga for Best Film and a Silver Biznaga, along with Santos Mercero for Best Screenplay at the Málaga Spanish Film Festival this year for 15 Years and 1 Day.”We are constantly searching for the best Spanish language films for our audiences, and we are excited to be able to offer 15 Years and 1 Day, as well as wishing director Gracia Querejeta a shot at the Oscars Luis Villanueva, president and CEO of Somos TV said.The film stars Maribel Verdú as Margo, a single mother to a troubled young teenager struggling with rebellion and conflict, Jon. After pushing her to her limits, she decides to send him to stay with his ex-militant grandfather. The film follows the conflict between the two extreme opposing characters of Jon who is trying find his own way and fit in with less than socially acceptable crowds and his strict rigid grandfather who has lived in solitude for quite some time. The only common ground between the two: emotional paralysis.
