Globos catalog of unreleased titles, to be presented at Natpe 2015, will include the telenovela Helenas Shadow, among other hits. Set in Rio de Janeiro, with locations in Vienna, Austria, and in the state of Goiás, in the Brazilian countryside, the plot blends stories of love, hate, jealousy, passion and envy. Helenas Shadow is written by renowned Manoel Carlos, author of several Globo hits in Brazil and around the world, such as Pages of Life and Seize the Day. Featuring three distinct time periods, spanning the 1980s to 2014, the telenovela tells the story of an overwhelming love that leaves a trail of conflict and pain. The story aired during primetime in Brazil with average ratings of 31 points and 55% share, reaching nearly 44 million viewers per day (Source: Ibope). In the last episode, aired on July 17th, 2014, Internet posts about the story on social media reached over 1 million likes. Comings and goings are normal in the lives of cousins Laerte (Gabriel Braga Nunes, Irrational Heart) and Helena (Julia Lemmertz, Looks & Essence). In the early 1980s, Helena discovers the power of Laertes love and control. A childhood crush that grows into a connection sealed by a blood pact: a love that is always reborn, regardless of time or the obstacles that life puts in their way. On their wedding day, however, Laertes obsessive jealousy separates him from Helena. Twenty years later, he meets Luiza (Bruna Marquezine, Brave Woman), the daughter of his former lover. They fall in love, which deeply affects Helenas marriage and her relationship with her daughter, who ends up repeating the same mistakes of the past. The story features an all-star cast, including Giovanna Antonelli (The Clone), Reynaldo Gianecchini (Shades of Sin) and Natalia do Vale (Brave Woman). Helenas Shadow has 75 episodes of 1 hour each. Globo will be located in the Trésor Tower, suite 2201, during Natpe 2015, which will be held from January 20th until 22nd. The Brazilian distributor will offer its traditional Screening Breakfast on the morning of the 20th (from 8 to 10am, in the Versailles Tower, at the Glimmer Ballroom), where it will launch its new catalog of unreleased titles.
