Sergio Cabrera, Colombian director at the service of Azteca Novelas, is working on a 20-episode drama that will be shot in 2016 and at the same time he is writing a miniseries for RTI that will be aired on Señal Colombia. The main focus of the plot will be the life of Gabriel García Márquez.”I am working with Elisa Salinas from Azteca Novelas on a melodramatic product that pretends to be interesting for the Mexican audience, with proposals that are different, both visually and narratively, Sergio Cabrera told PRODU. Initially, the contract with Azteca is for this first project, but both Azteca Novelas as well as Sergio hope this will be a long-term relation.Simultaneously, Cabrera has been working for six months for Colombia´s RTI on a 10-chapter miniseries on the Nobel Prize winner Gabriel García Márquez, that will be aired on Señal Colombia. “The story is summarized in the 10 most important moments in the life of ‘Gabo’. The main plot is taken from books, letters and memories of the writer and journalist Plinio Apuleyo, explained Cabrera.This project already has the plot for each chapter and soon, they will start writing the scripts. The shooting is expected to start in 2016.
