In the Russia 2018 Soccer World Cup, more than 25 platforms offered the sports event in direct, the most prominent among which are DIRECTV Sports, TyC Sports Play, VivoPlay, Movistar Play, Flow Cablevisión, TCC Vivo, Telecentro Play and Now Online.
BB explained that the companies used different strategies and promotions for the World Cup, almost all of which were based on the streaming access of the games in direct: Flow from Argentina offered the games in live streaming to their clients at Personal without consuming mobile data; in Mexico, the clients of Izzi with any TV service had free access to the Izzi GO app; in Brazil, Now allowed the streaming broadcast from the SportTV or FOX Sports signals without consuming mobile data to Claro Pospago Ilimitado clients.
Additionally, in Argentina, Telecentro launched a set-top-box to watch the event in 4K through the DIRECTV Sports signal, whereas in Mexico AT&T offered unlimited data the days the Mexican team played and access to their streaming app.
BB also highlighted the presence of studios in Russia to carry out their World Cup programming in direct on companies such as DIRECTV, FOX, Globo, Telemundo and TNT Argentina.
