Tomás Gennari, EVP at BB (Business Bureau), presented data on in the GSMA (Global System for Mobile Communications) event, on the panel Media and Entertainment: Demands for digital connectivity, datos sobre el mercado digital actual.
“There are currently more than 270 online platforms available throughout all Latin America and 8 out of 10 homes with Internet watch content online,” detailed Gennari. He also explained that the computer, Smart TV with the Internet and the smartphone are the most used devices to watch content online by 62%, 48% and 45% of the homes, respectively.
The executive stated that there is the growth of devices used to consume content, among which Smart TV and smartphones begin to stand out. “In the home, the preferred one is the Smart TV, outside, the smartphone is the winner, as big complements. The most chosen Smart TV brand is Samsung, with 43%, whereas the most chosen operating system in cell phones is Android, with 78%”.
The GSMA seeks to represent the interests of mobile phone operators worldwide and links more than 750 operators with more than 350 companies related to mobile telephony.
