With more than 200 hours produced, Sabbatical Entertainment started 2019 centered on producing new concepts and that is why they established a new business model, Sabbatical Squads, with several producers, writers, and production specialists in countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico.
Miguel Somoza, CEO, and founder of Sabbatical Entertainment, commented that in Brazil two new productions are being made: Brasil Muestra Tu Cara and Brasil Tan Brasilero.
In Argentina they are working on several concepts such as a documentary about Comic-con and Sin Sangre Azul, on women who have married members of royalty without being royals themselves.
“We also announced La Llegada, a documentary about the conquest of Mexico” said Somoza.
They also have Exceso, on the greatest magnates in the world and how they came to be who they are, and a series of capsules on different events in history, such as the 50th anniversary of 1969, a year in which several events that have their weight and impact on modern-day culture occurred.
“We are also working on a youth concept on the ecosystem to raise awareness among younger kids on the environment and its preservation, titled Earth 101,” explained the director.
In Colombia, they made two documentary series: one is called Dramedy on the dark side of comedians and the other is Demasiado Joven about famous people who have died young.
At NATPE, Somoza hopes to continue commercializing the content they have already produced and that is currently in production, to be able to activate new concepts.
