According to Gustavo Ordóñez, SVP, Programming and Research at Univision, the most important thing about Televisa´s productions for Univision is that they give the screen a sense of diversity and options.
The executive commented that they would like the first two hours of prime time (7 and 8) to be young hours, as we see with La Rosa de Guadalupe, and then there will be bets like La Reina Soy Yo, and Los Elegidos.
Then, at 9, “after Mi Marido Tiene Más Familia, we will have this story that gives me so much joy, Doña Flor y Sus Dos Maridos,” whereas at 10 in the evening they want “stories that defy conventional protocols.”
According to what he explained, the idea is to present different proposals, such as El Último Dragón, that is “a sophisticated narco”. The executive added that the idea is for each hour to have a defined intention.
The project of the year for him is La Fábrica de Sueños. “Imagine Hollywood producers working with producers that are typical of telenovelas.” He estimated that the first product will arrive at the end of August or September, “it could be Cuna de Lobos, Usurpadora or Rubí”.
For his part, UniMás has three action series and is in a transition stage because “starting in April they are going to focus on an entirely different execution. What we want is for UniMás to be the channel of realities. We are going to have five or six realities in the remainder of the year”.
