SOMOS Distribution is in the LA Screenings presenting Juegos Interrumpidos (10×60´), the first project co-produced with Grupo Fénix. Francisco Villanueva, VP and COO of the company, states trustingly, that when it comes out into the market, it will be an absolute hit.
“With an extraordinary book and with Salvador Mejía, Miguel Rosenfeld and Carlos Moreno involved in the project, it is arousing a great deal of interest. We are putting the players together, thinking about starting to produce for the second semester of 2020,” he explained.
The topic of Juegos Interrumpidos revolves around a child that was adopted, but actually, unknowingly, he was kidnapped from his US family, so he will start looking for his biological mother. That is why a great deal of the shooting will take place between Mexico and the US. “We are looking for an important Mexican artist, but haven´t found one yet,” he mentioned.
Another production presented by Grupo Fénix is the thriller El Mural. They are also bringing Turkish novels such as Wildrose, with 40 episodes, as part of their relation with Kanal D, and new Latin American films “that are very trendy and people are seeking”.
Additionally, they came to close two or three territories pending for Súbete a Mi Moto on the band Menudo. “The production has already started and we are doing castings in Puerto Rico. It will be on the air in February 2020 on an important platform they cannot yet announced,” he ended.
