Viacom International Studios (VIS) just celebrated its first year of operations. Most of the projects they presented, together with the launch of the studios (at the 2018 LA Screenings), are in production today.
Dani Who? (for Paramount Channel and Amazon Prime Video) and Ana (with Ana de la Reguera) are being made in Mexico; Atrapa a un Ladrón (co-production between VIS and Paramount Channel in Europa) just ended shooting in Argentina; Homens, produced in Brazil con Porta Dos Fundos, ya se estrenó en Comedy Central y tendrá segunda ventana en Amazon; Club 57, in co-producion with Italy´s Raibow, was shot in the VIS studios in Miami; and the second season of Noobees is being produced in Colombia.
“We want to produce in Spain, too,” said Federico Cuervo, SVP and general director of VIS. “The idea is to produce anywhere where it truly makes sense for the story to take place,” he added.
On the other hand, he highlighted the recent agreement sealed with the awarded Argentinean director Juan José Campanella. The deal, that has a duration of two years, contemplates the development and production of content for the screens of Viacom or third parties.
