After an exhaustive search and interviewing a large number of development directors, LatinWE and its NBC partners decided to appoint Kate Presutti as the company’s new Executive VP of Development, announced Luis Balaguer, president of LatinWE.
“She is an executive who with great experience and understands the challenges we have as a company when it comes to making Latino stories that are relevant globally. In addition, she fits perfectly in our team that is 98% made up of women, obviously led by Sofia Vergara and myself ,” said Balaguer.
Presutti will not only work with scripted and unscripted formats. According to Balaguer she has the strength of her previous experience with the late night show and handles humor very well. “That is very important to us, as well as herexperience with Google, because a large part of our content is for networks, as well as her experience in acquisitions for Quibi allowed her to experience first hand the great creators of American stories. Her experience is perfect for the stories of the future that today have to be designed for multi platform,” said Balaguer.
For Balaguer this is the Latinos moment, as well as them to stand out worldwide. He commented that series with very strong producer packages are coming for Netflix, as well as for NBC and other platforms.
Regarding Maradona: Sueño Bendito, he said he was very proud of the result and for having been chosen by Maradona himself to tell his story. “We worked with Diego while he was still alive and he surprised us when he passed away. Our partners at Dhana Media, Mari Urdaneta and Liliana Moyano, were crucial in making this story come true with the participation of BTF Media as producers. But Amazon will be the one giving more details, we cannot say anything else,” he said.
