After the departure of Poncho de Anda from iKaBron Productions in June 2020, the remaining partners, Peter López (CEO) and Jorge Otero (executive producer) decided to rebrand the company as Goldenbird Films, becoming stronger as creators of content that will help to make a positive impact on society.
“Goldenbird Films is iKaBron reaching its maturity. This is the result of taking years of experience, our present vision, and purpose under a new projection as content creators: from documentary formats and miniseries to films. We consider content as a powerful tool to help overcome the challenges humanity faces, always from the solutions and opportunities point of view. With a clear sense of entertainment, but without losing focus of our cause and the needs of our clients,” said Otero.
Otero comments that branding content is still their day-to-day, they have been doing short format for 10 years, but during the pandemic, they saw the opportunity with the long format.
They highlight that several of their clients have identified with Goldenbird Films’ motivation and have entrusted them with the joint creation and development of important projects with a positive social impact, without losing the DNA of their brands. One of these projects is Antarctica for Discovery.
“With the support of Famor Botero, a great director, and friend, it took us almost a year to be able to write, film, collect footage, and put together the series with the quality that Discovery expected, not only to be entertaining and fulfill its message, but also meet the technical specifications for global distribution of Discovery, some of the strictest in the industry, “explained Otero.
Currently, the series is in Discovery+ US and Europe, Discovery LatAm, and Brazil. “Talks continue with other territories to extend their distribution and message,” he concluded.
