Netflix and the Chilean scriptwriter and showrunner José Ignacio ‘Chascas’ Valenzuela, creator of the Netflix series ¿Quién Mató a Sara? announced an exclusive creative agreement for creating series for three years. Netflix will also be the first to see his film proposals.

For his part, Jose Ignacio ‘Chascas’ Valenzuela said “I am tremendously excited to join the Netflix family. Hand in hand with them, over the next three years, I am committed to telling stories that will excite fans in Latin America and around the world as much as ¿Quién mató a Sara?”. ‘Chascas’ Valenzuela is the author of Amor a Domicilio, La Familia de al Lado, Dama y Obrero and is currently working on the third season of ¿Quién Mató a Sara?, whose production will start on October 18.
The first season of the series (four weeks) was watched by over 55 million homes and was among the Top 10 in 87 countries, including the United States, Germany, Israel, Brazil, and France. The second season was launched two months after the first.
His next project, Donde Hubo Fuego, is currently in production. Starring Itatí Cantoral and Eduardo Capetillo, this Mexican novela will depict what happens in and out of a firefighter station, where mystery, adventure, and romance intertwine.
Chascas’ proposal includes innovative content with unprecedented formats for streaming, such as large format novelas. In his storytelling, melodrama intertwines with mystery and his vision includes high-production values, deep storytelling, and complex characters that evolve and engage the audience through emotional connections.
