Marie Leguizamo, CEO of Banijay Mexico & U.S. Hispanic, is at MIP Cancun -her second experience- with a conceived plan. “After a year in the company, we strategically know what we can do, not only with original productions, but with our partners and buyers, with the understanding what they are looking for,” she explained.
Original and globally successful formats are the ones that customers are looking for. “They are asking us for original large formats, that companies can say are their label, especially non-scripts, which is my specialty. But they are also looking for formats that have been successful around the world. Fortunately we have with Banijay the fortune of having access to a library of thousands of formats, which we can pitch and give access to,” she said.
She commented that after a year of launching Banijay Mexico, and compared to her first MIP Cancun, where she came to learn and listen to possibilities, there is a big difference. “This year there are a lot of people from all over the world, I see a lot of Spaniards, people from Mexico, Colombia and other parts of Latin America. This time I feel more confident, with a plan and the exact knowledge of what we are looking to launch.”
