El Señor de Los Cielos 8 aims to make a cinematographic difference, coming with greater strength and a higher level of resources. In fact, this new season is the first including 350 locations, more than 2,000 extras, and an entire city, DEA’s area 51 located in Los Angeles, 95% made with VFX.
“It brings more planes, jets, and helicopters than ever and more than 30 special action events,” said Karen Barroeta, EVP of Production and Development at Telemundo Global Studios, days before its premiere, which took place on Tuesday the 17th on the screen of Telemundo at 9pm.
“For this season we have ensured to bring the best camera and lens technology. In addition to equipment, we have chosen a management team under the conceptual direction of Juan Carlos Valdivia, a film director who has worked on big projects in the past and whom we enrolled for the first time in this project and we’re very happy with what he’s accomplished. Photographically, they managed to create different atmospheres for all the different worlds that we have in El Señor de Los Cielos 8,” she pointed out.
She commented that these new features can be expected as it is the longest series in the history of Spanish-language television in the US, but also the most successful since it has been number one in primetime from its beginning.
She announced that since the series still has a lot of stories to tell, they are already preparing for the ninth season.
