Euronews has been in Mexico since 2013, so it has a solid presence of more than a decade in the market. “I am very proud of being one of the first European news channels to enter Latin America,” said Sarah Mimouni, Distribution Manager for Latin America.
The channel is available on leading operators and partners such as Izzi, ROKU, and Samsung TV+. In addition, its syndicated premium content can be seen on local channels such as Canal 28 and Canal 44.
“Mexico has always been an important and key audiovisual market for the region, and our ‘big door’ to enter Latin America. Despite that Mexico is not one of the most prosperous markets, due to its territorial extension and millions of viewers it’s a trendsetting territory in viewing content and in digital users,” said Mimouni.
She added that it is a market that offers great opportunities; especially in FAST (free ad-supported streaming TV) due to its user-friendliness, simplicity, and high-quality content. “In this context, some consultants point out that Mexico will be one of the FAST powers in the upcoming years, so we will continue to promote our FAST Euronews Spanish model, available on several platforms across Mexico and all of Latin America.”
LEADER IN STREAMING, CONNECTED DEVICES, AND OTT
Euronews is celebrating its anniversary and is preparing to renew its image while continuing to promote its offer across Latin America.
It has a diverse offer of local content both in VOD and subtitled linear TV as well as videos and direct-to-consumer offers, focused on mobile devices.
It also offers its partners a wide variety of formats and flexibility in different business models: SVOD, AVOD, and TVOD, which is what TV operators are currently looking for and need to put together attractive offers for their subscribers.
Euronews is a leader in broadcast, connected devices, and OTT, with available in Mexico and the rest of Latin America through partners such as SAMSUNG TV+, ROKU, Pluto TV, and ViX.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROGRAMMING
Euronews has launched programming focused on raising awareness about climate change issues and taking care of the environment. In The Road to Green the reporter Cyril Fourneris travels through Europe to show people who are working on solutions to tackle the biggest environmental challenges of our time. Net-zero carbon emissions, circular economy, zero pollution, and biodiversity preservation are some of the topics that the program addresses.
The second season of Smart Health, a series on how the European Union is working to ensure accessibility to medicines while promoting greater competitiveness and environmental standards in the pharma industry, was also released. It features real stories from patients and medical staff, researchers, and politicians working to advance therapeutics, including the expectations of pharmaceutical companies.
