TV Azteca Internacional presented its offer of pay TV channels, announcing the launch of a new channel, Azteca Deportes Network, with the best of the national and international sports world, plus the renewal of its channels Azteca Internacional, Clic, Cinema, Corazón and the addition of others in alliance with brands such as Anime Onegai, AYM Sports, and Multimedios.

In an event that included executives of the TV station, as well as strategic partners such as Multimedios, Samsung, and Roku; Fernando Muñiz, Director of Distribution and Strategic Alliances of TV Azteca, introduced the new channel focused 100% on sports and which seeks to differentiate itself of the existent offer in the market by broadcasting 24/7.

“This is devoted 100% to sports, we are a sports entertainment channel, where we will have the best of the Mexican basketball, American football, baseball, and boxing leagues, among others. We have our friends at AYM Sports as allies, with high-level productions,” he mentioned.

For Rodolfo Ramírez, Director of Azteca Deportes, sports has evolved and grown, mainly in broadcast TV, which is why they’ve created a new window for sport exposure using a different product, which they’re sure it will be a success. “We took on the challenge of building the brand in digital and the results have been wonderful, so we will continue doing what we know, with the passion and heart that moves us every day.”

Adrián Ortega, TV Azteca’s general director of Contents, said that this launch is part of the company’s strategy, 30 years after its birth: “The TV of the future is how our general director Benjamín Salinas defines it, and it is the best of Mexico and the world. Under this strategy, we want to present many novelties and surprises.”

TRANSFORMATION
“Today we are also launching Azteca Internacional, which used to be Mundo, with a new image and that has become the ‘crown jewel’ in the distribution of TV Azteca content, all our talent and the programs will be able to travel the world through this signal,” Muñiz regarding the changes of their international portfolio.

This transformation includes the Clic channel, which was previously focused on general entertainment and today becomes one of lifestyle and a hotbed for talent. “We brought in influencers who will be talking about lifestyle and with them, we will make content together to achieve a crossover between platforms.”

Corazón is another channel that will feature the drama and romance of telenovelas; while Cinema will have all the cinematographic content of the Mexican gold film era.

NEW CHANNELS TO DISTRIBUTE
Hand in hand with Grupo Multimedios, the event also featured the channels Corazón Grupero, a 24/7 signal focused on regional Mexican music, and Teleritmo, dedicated to pop music, which seeks to be young and dynamic. Both will have their own awards show in 2024.

The Anime Onegai brand’s content catalog will travel internationally with TV Azteca Internacional, thanks to the distribution of the signal and the OTT platform: “It will have simultaneous premieres and dubbing with Japan. 60% of the content is 100% exclusive. Anime is content with millions of followers and comes to strengthen our offer. We will have more than a thousand hours,” Muñiz pointed out.

He added that they will have the distribution of the AYM Sports channel, which will have a multiplatform presence in Mexico and the world: “They are our strategic partners in the launch of our own new signal Azteca Deportes Network.”
