Once the first season of Dramáticas is over, the executive producer and content director Hugo Devana, will pursue his next project: the 12 episodes of 45 minutes episodic series Volver A Empezar. The second season of Dramáticas, aired on Venevisión will be produced in 2024 also with HispanoMedios.
“The new series is in the negotiation stage. If confirmed, it will be with the same crew that we did Dramáticas. Volver A Empezar revolves around cases of women who find themselves in situations where they have to start over,” explained Devana. This project will also be carried out with Daniel Ferrer’s HispanoMedios.
The episodic series will have an open TV screen as its first window. “We continue to believe in TV, but we are also negotiating with some streaming platforms, as we did with Dramáticas,” he said.
Devana is very pleased with the welcome that Dramáticos has had in Venezuela. “The impact of Dramáticas in the country has been great, so we are doing it so it’s available on Venevisión and the channel provides us with all the offices. They have risen to the occasion. They have bet a lot on the project. It has been emotional. This country gave me many joys for many years, it is a country that I love deeply and with this, even more. It’s been a wonderful experience,” he said.
“Dramáticas has nothing to envy the sitcoms of the US or Spain. The scenes led by directors César Manzano and Manuel Díaz Casanova, is a spectacular work because it is a frame-to-frame work with the actors. When you see the result you are amazed,” he said.
On the experience of returning to produce in Venezuelan, Devana highlighted: “Venezuela was big, it is big and it will be big, and this shows because we are producing with higher quality and with local resources: from the director, the data, the first assistant to the general producer, the Venezuelan talent living in the country; they have in their genes everything regarding the serial and the telenovelas.”
Devana will travel to Colombia next week to begin production on RCN’s talk show, El Paredón, hosted by Flavia Dos Santos, which will air in September. Guillermo Restrepo, of Resonant TV and advisor to the presidency of RCN, heads the production.
