Colombia is a key market for THEMA America in promoting its Kanal D Drama brand and the company’s new catalog of international series.
“The Colombian audience loves and follows our captivating Turkish series. At THEMA, we have noticed the great demand in the country for universal stories and premium series. I am referring particularly to the female segment, but men also get hooked on the series. In this context, we plan to continue promoting our excellent Turkish productions and our new catalog of international series,” said Francheska León de la Barra, VP of Marketing and Communications at THEMA America.
According to León, Kanal D Drama recently joined Prime Video Channels in the country. With this digital move, the signal now reaches the different screens of millions of Colombians of all ages.
“As far as projects are concerned, we have rethought our content distribution strategy, closing agreements with two renowned Korean production companies, KT Studio Genie and CJ ENM, so in the short term, our strategy will focus on promoting these new international series, including a select catalog of K-Dramas” he added.
THEMA America will also promote the content of Canal+ International with productions such as Hellbound Village (12×40-45′), a Vietnamese horror series directed by Tran Huu Tan, and Scarlet Hill (8×60′), an action and mystery series under the direction of Víctor Vu.
Additionally, the company will continue to support Mezzo Live, the world’s leading channel for TV broadcasting of great artistic shows, which includes the most select opera, classical music, jazz, and dance.
Making a balance of 2023, León mentioned that this year’s lesson was learning that the behavior of the industry and audiences moves like a pendulum. “Tastes are changing, especially those of younger audiences. In this war to attract attention and gain subscribers, platforms must offer innovative content that drives audiences to want to subscribe to see it, of the highest quality and with a lot of engagement so that the viewer feels that they cannot miss a second of it.”
