The Alibi Films company ends 2023 with over 250 hours of primetime content produced for the US Hispanic, Mexican, and Ecuadorian markets. “This allowed us to establish a solid reputation in the industry as reliable and quality suppliers, capable of adapting to circumstances and taking full advantage of tax incentives in Colombia,” said Cristina Palacio, CEO and founder of the production company.
Additionally, they are adapting the feature film El Ruido de las Cosas al Caer, written and directed by Roberto Bentivegna (writer of the film House of Gucci) and based on the award-winning novel by Juan Gabriel Vásquez.
“For 2024, we have well-defined plans in our production agenda. We want to make four top productions and venture into new formats and genres. At Alibi, we love to experiment and be innovative. We are looking for partnerships that allow us to explore new formulas in both content and production. We want to join forces with partners who share our vision of making fresh and engaging content,” explained Palacio.
EXPANDING SERVICES
She highlighted that the audiovisual industry is growing widely, thanks to tax benefits, which are vital to “optimize production costs and offer competitive rates to our clients.” At the same time, she pointed out that the industry is constantly changing, and Colombia is not an exception, which is why it is crucial to be updated on different topics in both technology (to be more efficient) and content (to have better stories).
“Therefore, we want to expand our services, from creating content to production solutions, post-production, and more, to serve better our market and clients. We are also focusing on being more sustainable from the beginning of the production process.”
For Palacio, the audiovisual flavor of Colombia involves diversity at all levels, in addition to the creativity and work capacity of its people: “The cultural mix and Colombian landscapes are amazing, plus a talented crew in all talent areas of production, it is a perfect place to give shape to new ideas and original content. This has allowed us to expand our presence and success at home and abroad.”
BETWEEN AUDACITY AND REBELLION
She adds Alibi’s features: audacity and rebellion. “With audacity, we set out to try everything because we know what we are capable of, and we have a team supporting us with technical skill and innovation. It is a committed, sensitive, willing-to-break convention team, and, most importantly, with a clear objective.”
These features, combined with the diversity and beauty of the natural settings that Colombia offers for filming, plus crews highly trained technically and creatively, position us as one of the best options to carry out the production and post-production of a wide range of audiovisual projects.
