Pancho Villa: Se Busca Vivo o Muerto (1×60’) is the new docudrama that Discovery airs on September 18 at 10pm, as part of the initiative Celebrando México, that gives continuity to the story of this historic character; previously he did it with El Asesinato de Villa: La Conspiración (2013), and leaves the possibility of a third delivery.
“With this production we are trying to meet the business goals we set and to do well in ratings. The centenary of Columbus’ invasion offers us the opportunity to reminiscence Pancho Villa, this character that is so attractive for Mexicans. We also want to see in a realistic way what happened in the history of the country and to broaden its context. This launching joins the efforts of Celebrando México, that acknowledges the talent of Mexican people,” explained Gerardo López-Gallo, Contents VP at Discovery Networks Mexico.
The executive highlighted that the docudrama is a format “that helps us tell complicated topics, like historical moments, but also allows us to achieve more attractive and dynamic contents for new audiences, which we add to the digital platforms, where we will show curious facts about Villa, that will enable the series to have a context so that the audience decides to watch the program.”
Finally, López-Gallo stated that he would like to have the trilogy of this character, as well as other original productions they are already preparing for Mexico.
The docudrama stars Enoc Leaño, directed by Carlos Bolado and produced by Drako Media.
