Mexicanal and HITN announced they are continuing their joint efforts to continue covering the 2016 Presidential election through the HITN produced series, Tu Momento 2016.
Tu Momento 2016 is an initiative aimed at educating Hispanics about the 2016 Presidential election. HITN and Mexicanal will simulcast Tu Momento 2016: Primer Debate Presidencial, a special program produced by HITN in Spanish featuring experts’ interviews and in-depth analysis on the First Candidate Debate, which took place Monday, September 26, 2016 at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York.
“HITN’s mission is to offer key information to our audience to educate and empower them, which is the objective of our programming initiative Tu Momento 2016. We are pleased Mexicanal continues to support our programming by making the content available to their audience.” expressed Eric Turpin, HITN’s general manager.
According to data from Pew Hispanic Center and the US Census, the 2016 presidential elections will be the most racially and ethnically diverse on record, with Latinos representing 12 percent of total voters.
“In this election there will be 10 million more eligible Latino voters than there were in 2012 making it more vital than ever. Working together with HITN will allow us to bring key information to our viewers so they can make an informed decision,” explained Luis Torres-Bohl, president of Mexicanal and parent company Castalia Communications.
