Telemundo Deportes begins its 100-day countdown and unveils coverage plans for the FIFA Confederations Cup Russia 2017, taking place June 17- July 2.
The lineup will include close to 200 hours of programming on Telemundo and Universo, complemented by extensive news and analysis on TelemundoDeportes.com and across the company’s platforms.
The live broadcasts will include all 16 matches, as well as pre-game and post-game coverage originating from Russia. This marks the first time that coverage of all Confederations Cup matches will be produced from all venue cities.
Crews will be dedicated to covering the teams from Mexico, Chile and the other participating nations, and there will be FIFA Confederations Cup-specific shows airing at the start and end of each match day. In addition, Titulares y Más, will feature on-site segments, bringing the latest news and recaps of all the daily action, as well as additional coverage from Telemundo’s state-of-the-art studios in Miami, FL.
Telemundo Deportes’ Confederations Cup programming will also be available via live stream on desktops, tablets, the Telemundo Deportes En Vivo App, and for the first time ever, on connected TV’s, including Roku, Apple TV and Amazon Fire. Exclusive short- and long-form content will also be available.
Telemundo Deportes’ team of on-air talent will be led by Andrés Cantor, accompanied by Miguel Gurwitz, Ana Jurka, Sammy Sadovnik, Carlos Hermosillo, Copan Álvarez, Manuel Sol, Karim Mendiburu, Rosina Grosso, Leti Coo and Kaziro Aoyama.

In line with the network’s vision of being World Cup Great, the Telemundo Deportes executive team led by Warren, includes Eli Velázquez, EVP, Programming Production and Content, Telemundo Deportes, and Alina Falcón, EVP, FIFA World Cup Programming, Telemundo Deportes, who will be working alongside Jim Bell, president of NBC Olympics Production & Programming and executive producer of Telemundo World Cup.
Warren announced the following additions to his team with more to be announced soon: Bill Bergofin, SVP, Brand and Content Development, Telemundo Deportes who joins the team from NBC Sports in Stamford; Sandra Rojas, VP of Marketing for Telemundo Deportes and Universo; David Benrey, creative director, and Gaby Núñez, director of Sports Publicity, is responsible for developing and executing strategic publicity campaigns for Telemundo Deportes through external consumer media and sports trade outlets, as well as cross-promotional efforts through the company’s internal platforms. Previously, Núñez served as Manager of Communications for ESPN.
