The board of directors of LAMAC announced that, as of April 30 2017, Gary McBride will step down from his position as president and CEO of the board. The executive will return to the private industry as an entrepreneur.
McBride was a member of the founding group of LAMAC in the year 2002, accepting the position of president of the Board at the time. For 15 years heading LAMAC he made great contributions creating and transmitting the value and positioning of advertising in pay TV, supported by his continuous efforts and achievements to improve pay TV measurement metrics throughout Latin America.
“LAMAC is deeply grateful for Mr. McBride’s hard work and contribution and wish him success in his future projects,” expressed the organization.
Enrique Cusco, CEO of OLE Communications, commented: “Gary has been a bastion promoting the strategic value of advertising in pay TV and in our industry in general.”
Likewise, Enrique Martínez, president and General Director of Discovery Communications Latin America/US Hispanic and Canada, said: “Gary is a visionary that has always fought for the wellbeing of pay TV.”
Finally, McBride expressed: “I am excited about the future and the opportunities that derive from this change in my professional life. I will never be far away from television nor the advertising industry in Latin America.”
