El Secreto de Selena
El Secreto de Selena (13×60´) started shooting April 9 with a renowned cast, starring the winner of the Ariel Award for Best Actress, Maya Zapata (De La Calle, Ciudad del Silencio) as Selena Quintanilla, queen of music and fashion entrepreneur, who conquered, with her charm and great voice, millions in Mexico, the US, and the world.
Damayanti Quintanar (Hasta Que te Conocí, El César), also stars in the production, in the role of the challenging antagonist Yolanda Saldívar, who caused the interruption of the singer’s life, and Sofía Lama (Eva Luna, Eva La Trailera) as the renowned journalist and author María Celeste Arrarás.
El Secreto de Selena is a police investigation thriller, based on the homonymous book of the Emmy winner, María Celeste Arrarás, who narrates the facts that took place the day of Selena´s murder until the life imprisonment of her murderer.
The series is directed by Alejandro Aimetta and Natalia Beristain. The story belongs to Leonardo Aranguibel and was written by David Jasqui together with Alejandro Aimetta. It was made by BTF Media in co-production with Disney Media Distribution Latin America, Moconoco, LatinWE, under the executive production of Francisco Cordero, Leonardo Aranguibel, María Celeste Arrarás and Fernando Barbosa. Photography direction belonged to Jerónimo Rodríguez García, production to Mariano Carranco and the showrunner was Alejandro Aimetta.
