“We have been in this genre for a while, and are very happy about this alliance with Amazon Prime,” said Eduardo Clemesha, Formatos, and New Contents VP at Televisa, after recalling that, since 2007, Televisa makes series for open TV and platforms and has vast experience in the genre.
Now, with Televisa Alternative Originals (TAO) they have worked on two projects for Amazon, the first, Diablo Guardián (10×60´), that already had its debut and comes with a second season for 2019, and Un Extraño Enemigo, second series they make for Amazon Prime that will be lauched next year.
The production of both Diablo Guardián and Un Extraño Enemigo took two years. Clemesha expressed that writing the scripts is the most delicate and important part to make series of the quality that platforms require.
Currently, the second season of Diablo Guardián and Extraño Enemigo –both of which will have eight episodes—are currently in postproduction.
Extraño Enemigo is a political thriller, fiction inspired in true facts ocurred in 1968. “It is a series with great quality, told from the perspective of what happened at that time and which tells the story of the struggle for power. We are happy with the cast, Daniel Jiménez Cacho, Antonio de la Vega, Fernando Becerril, Cristian Ferrer. It is a great story directed by Gabriel Ripstein, that will arrive to Amazon Prime at the end of the year,” said Clemesha.
“Something we are thrilled about is that we have been able to incubate and work on paper several projects. We are working on a couple of series more that we will soon announce,” he said.
