Brendan Fitzgerald, CEO of Secuoya Studios: Each pod will function as a Secuoya affiliate, consisting of two or three individuals dedicated to researching and developing story ideas
Brendan Fitzgerald, CEO of Secuoya Studios, spoke with Richard LIVE at Iberseries. He explained that they employ a model they refer to as a ‘pod,’ inspired by the concept of a protective cocoon for peas. This involves creating independent creative teams of writers in Mexico, Colombia, France, the UK, and Spain. The goal is to produce content in each of these countries, increasing output while maintaining the high production standards characteristic of Secuoya Studios.
“Each pod will function as a Secuoya affiliate, consisting of two or three individuals dedicated to researching and developing story ideas. This approach enables us to have three or four parallel production pipelines in addition to our established team in Tres Cantos, thereby increasing our output without compromising quality,” explained Fitzgerald.
Furthermore, they have been producing three high-quality series, four films, and unscripted true-crime series. “We anticipate a substantial increase in our production volume this year,” he stated.
He mentioned that they are developing a novel format, a daily series produced at a premium level in terms of budget and production. “This is a unique endeavor we are introducing to the market, comprising 60 episodes, which I believe will be a highly engaging project. We have already made significant strides in the recording process and we are currently in the Canary Islands nearing completion,” he added.
