At a bustling virtual awards ceremony, the 55th edition of the Ibero-American Creativity Festival (FIAP) announced its winners for 2024.
Following rigorous days of judging, the jury presidents in each of FIAP’s four disciplines (Formats, Innovation, Advertisements, and Production) announced their verdict, awarding a total of 201 metals: 4 Grandes Soles, 1 Special Mention, 41 golds, 69 silvers, and 86 bronzes. This exceptional collection showcases the most outstanding and groundbreaking advertising creativity in Ibero-America.
Peru made history at FIAP 2024, becoming the first country in the festival’s 55-year history to win Grandes Soles in all four disciplines. This achievement solidifies Peruvian creativity as one of the most prominent in the region.
It’s noteworthy that for 2024, factors like message effectiveness and creative execution were paramount in selecting the winning entries. The juries were diligent in recognizing the crème de la crème: those ideas that, as a whole, transcended conventional boundaries.
It’s also noteworthy that with the introduction of new AI-related categories, the Ibero-American industry’s significant strides in integrating innovative technological tools to enhance creative communication became evident.
In Formats, sponsored by Adsmovil, 76 entries were awarded: 1 Gran Sol, 12 golds, 30 silvers, and 33 bronzes. The metal juries, chaired by Anna Roca, general director of Proximity Barcelona and president of APG, Spain, awarded the Gran Sol to Sightwalks – Veredas que guían in the Outdoor/Public Roads category. This multi-award-winning initiative was developed by Circus Grey Peru for Cemento Sol.
In Innovation, sponsored by Amarillo Creative Lab, 32 entries were awarded: 1 Gran Sol, 9 golds, 5 silvers, and 17 bronzes. The Metals jury team, led by the legendary publicist Jaime Rosado, Founding Partner and Creative Director of RosadoToledo&, also awarded the Gran Sol to Sightwalks – Veredas que guían, this time in the Innovation in Outdoor/Public Roads/Ambient category, further solidifying the exceptional success of this Peruvian idea.
In Ads, after a rigorous deliberation, the jury awarded 66 entries: 1 Gran Sol, 1 Special Mention, 11 golds, 28 silvers, and 25 bronzes. Erh Ray, founder, CEO, and CCO at BETC Havas, chaired the jury. The Gran Sol was once again awarded to Sightwalks – Veredas que guían in the Effective Creativity – Public Good category. The Special Mention went to Absurd Promises, a VML Argentina campaign for Asdra that prompted nationwide reflection during the electoral period. Dirty Kitchen was the sponsor of this discipline.
Finally, in the Production Discipline, the jury led by Manuel Camacho, CEO and co-founder of La Doblevida, awarded 27 medals: 1 Gran Sol, 9 Golds, 6 Silvers, and 11 Bronzes. The emotional campaign Cancer before cancer by Fahrenheit DDB Peru for the Peruvian Cancer Foundation won the Gran Sol in the Audiovisual Production Techniques – General Management category.
However, the celebration doesn’t end with the Virtual Gala. FIAP will conclude with an exclusive in-person gala during Advertising Week LatAm (November 5-7), a significant regional event. The gala will take place at the prestigious Papalote del Niño Museum in Mexico City on November 6.
During this exclusive and immersive experience, the Grandes Soles of Ibero-America, previously announced in the online gala yesterday, October 10, will be presented alongside the Hall of Fame and highly anticipated annual awards such as: Agency of the Year, Independent Agency of the Year, Network of the Year, Advertiser of the Year, and Production Company of the Year, among other surprises like the Grand Slam and the Hall of Fame.
