In Mexico, many of the distribution partners of ViacomCBS´ linear channels are already supporting the new Paramount +.
“Many of our partners, who are key for us in terms of the distribution of our linear channels, are joining as distributors of Paramount+. Some of the MVPDs we already have in the region are Izzy, Megacable, TotalPlay, Claro video and many more will surely join,” comments Laura Pérez, senior VP of Content Distribution for Latin America and general director for Mexico, Central America, and Colombia at ViacomCBS Networks Americas.
Other distribution partners she mentioned were Apple, Roku, Amazon, smarTVs, and apps for Android and iOS.
“It is a very important moment for the company in which we are increasingly establishing ourselves in the markets with innovative and disruptive offers such as these of Paramount+ and Pluto TV. The main goal of my new role is the launch of Paramount+ that complements our distribution offer. I started 21 years ago in the ViacomCBS department and being head of Latin America today fills me with pride and I am very happy with the challenges ahead with Paramount+ as one of our banners to continue increasing the business, without neglecting our offer of linear contents and the entire ViacomCBS ecosystem,” emphasized Pérez.
In addition to the vast distribution, Pérez highlighted that one of the keys to the platform´s successful launch is its price. “In the case of Mexico, the cost is 79 pesos (US$3,78), which, compared to other offers in the market is a very competitive price and with which we are betting on having a large number of users joining the platform,” she mentioned.
She also commented that along with Los Enviados and Cecilia as original productions in Spanish, more projects by Juan José Campanella will be added.
