Production companies’ efforts to create content that is different, is an essential ingredient for actors like Erik Hayser, who currently plays the role of Emilio Varela on Camelia La Texana. The series was developed by Campanario, is produced by Argos and distributed by Telemundo Internacional.In an interview with PRODU, the actor said the attention to detail of this series makes it the most ambitious project has been a part of. It speaks to the evolution of TV because it is shot in film format, carefully controlling the quality of audio and even the color. Drug trafficking stories are based in reality, and I think they are successful because people can relate.”Regarding the growth of Latin American production for TV, Hayser applauded the work of Mexican channels like Cadenatres, which produces content that causes audiences to think. “We have to focus on the content, which shouldn’t be at odds with quality or the commercial aspect. I gravitate towards content that is different because we need to be responsible with what is said on TV,” he added. The actor is currently considering offers from Telemundo, HBO and Netflix.Camelia La Texana, stars Hayser and Sara Maldonado. It airs Monday through Friday at 10pm on Telemundo and will feature about 60 episodes.
