Aracely Arámbula, star of La Doña (120×60′), her third project with Telemundo, highlights that this adaptation of the novel Doña Bárbara by Rómulo Gallegos “is very current, it talks about social media, and covers the topic of gender violence. I love my character, Altagracia Sandoval, because she is a very strong woman”.
Arámbula commented that in this production she worked, once again, with the director Carlos Villegas —who was the maker of La Patrona, the actress’ second novela with Telemundo— and with the producer Gabriela Valentán. “I have been with Telemundo four years and we have made three telenovelas. La Patrona has been one of my best telenovelas, and has been broadcast around the world several times: in France it has been aired twice. It also went to Africa, it has been in many countries I could have never imagined. I am very satisfied with this great work and the team, that is the same for La Doña,” she expressed.
David Chocarro, also star of the series, said: “The casting job was brilliant. Production-wise it is very clever, I think, they took some licenses and were risky. That is why it turned into a dramatic series. What they have respected from the original version is the love triangle, the abuse and revenge, but they managed to refresh it greatly.”
The young actress Danna Paola said that La Doña is a dramatic series that “is going to give all the TV viewers a heart attack”.
