AGC Television, the television production division of Stuart Ford’s AGC Studios, has hired former NBC, Comedy Central and Univision executive Lourdes Díaz as head of Television, it was announced by Ford.
At AGC Díaz will oversee all of the company’s scripted, non-scripted, and non-fiction and digital television activity.
Diaz most recently served as president of Entertainment for Univision Communications Inc. (UCI), diversifying its entertainment content and working closely with Televisa, Netflix, Globo, Endemol, and other partners on all scripted and non-scripted formats and specials for UCI.
Said Ford, “Lourdes’ impressively deep resume, with her extensive experience across hour-long dramas, mini-series, scripted and unscripted comedy in multiple formats, international co-productions and multi-cultural content make her a perfect fit for what we hope will be a diverse and prolific AGC Television output over the coming years. We’re very excited to have Lourdes come onboard to spearhead our TV production activities.”
“I look forward to joining Stuart and AGC Studios and build on their appetite to create a global content studio that spans platforms in this ever-changing industry. AGC Studios comes to the table with the resources for us to take big swings. I am thrilled to bring forth the next generation of content –scripted and non-scripted, from comedy to drama, in the U.S. and globally,” commented Díaz.
When AGC Studios launched earlier this year Ford announced a slew of more than a dozen feature film executive hires from his former company IM Global including Head of Film Greg Shapiro.
The newly launched content studio anticipates announcing a number of further executives hires in the television arena and production partnerships across film and television over the coming months as Ford aggressively seeks to build a leading edge premium content production, financing and distribution studio.
