Alberto Ciurana named president of Programming and Content at Univision Networks

Univision Communications Inc. announced that television industry veteran Alberto Ciurana will be joining Univision Networks as president of Programming and Content. Ciurana will be based in Miami and report to Cesar Conde, president of Univision Networks. He will oversee programming for Univision’s broadcast and cable networks. Ciurana brings more than 34 years of experience in programming and entertainment, most recently serving as head of Programming at Televisa, leading their networks to record-setting ratings. “We are pleased to add a global industry leader like Alberto and his experience, vision and passion for content to the Univision Networks leadership team. His deep understanding of our audience and the evolution of our industry will allow Univision to continue to be at the forefront of innovation in a highly competitive marketplace,” said Conde. “There could not be a better time to join Univision and work with this exceptional team in continuing to evolve our programming and content strategy. I look forward to contributing to the enhancement of Univision’s position as one of the leading media companies in the U.S.,” said Ciurana. Luis Fernández will serve as president of Univision Studios, reporting to Conde. Jessica Rodríguez, executive vice president of Program Scheduling and Promotions, will report to Ciurana.
