Univisión’s Premios lo Nuestro a la Música Latina will reach its 25th anniversary this Thursday, February 21st.Alberto Ciurana, president of Programming and Content of Univision Networks spoke with PRODU about the event and other shows that will soon air on the network.“Premios lo Nuestro is without a doubt one of the most important shows in the history of Hispanic TV and of our network. This year, Ninel Conde and Pedro Fernández will host it. The show will be broadcast on all our platforms,” said Ciurana. The executive pointed out Univisión’s Hispanic audience is much younger than that of the general market, with a mean age of 36 versus the audiences of English-language competitors such as ABC, Fox, NBC and CBS, which register an average age of 52.Ciurana spoke about the seventh season of Nuestra Belleza Latina, auditions of which are already underway, and also spoke about the importance of the change of TeleFutura to UniMás. “UniMás is geared more towards young males 28 years old. The transition has been facilitated by the content from Caracol and Patricio Will’s RTI, with great experience in creating contemporary stories such as Made in Cartagena and Rosario Tijeras. We’re also incorporating soccer from Mexico’s national team and other teams that appeal to our audience,” he added.
