Amazon Prime Video announced they will give the green light to more than 20 new Prime Original series and the return of others in production in the UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, India, Japan, and Mexico. In addition to reaching local audiences, many of the Prime Original series will be available to be aired globally on Prime Video in more than 200 countries.
“We know that the clients who watch Prime Video everywhere want to see authentic stories, set in their own countries and invest in characters that can reflect their own experiences and diversity,” said Jennifer Salke, Director of Amazon Studios.
The new Prime Original Mexico series announced include: El Presidente, that will enter in production next year, by Pablo Larraín’s Fábula; an untitled science fiction and horror comedy, to be produced in 2019 by Dynamo and Red Creek Productions; an untitled political thriller series that is currently in production together with Televisa and will be launched in 2019. The three will arrive exclusively on Prime Video.
El Juego de las Llaves, a comedy about four couples tired of monogamy that will be launched exclusively on Prime Video in Mexico and in more than 200 countries, excluding the US.
Cómo Sobrevivir Soltero, produced by Campanario, Addiction House and Sony Pictures, a series on a fiction version of the life of the Mexican actor Sebastián Zurita and his bad luck in love. Production will start in 2019 and it will be launched exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.
The Prime Original Mexico series that are back are LOL: Last One Laughing season two, based on the format from Japan Hitoshi Matsumoto presents the documentary, produced by Derbez, 3Pas Studios y Endemol Shine. They will start production in 2019 and will debut on December 14 on Prime Video. Diablo Guardián season two, adaptation of the novel by Xavier Velasco, produced by Televisa Alternative Originals for Amazon Studios, that will be launched exclusively on Prive Video next year.
