Turner Latin America announced in Mipcom that they reached an agreement with Amazon Prime Video to air their original series Hermanos Freitas (8×45´) on the platform.
The bioseries, produced together with Gullane and VideoFilmes, tells the love and rivalry story of one of the greatest sports icons in Brazil: the boxer Acelino “Popó” Freitas (played by Daniel Rocha) and his brother Luis Claudio (Rómulo Braga).
Hermanos Freitas will debut on Sunday, October 20 in first screen on Space Brasil, and two hours later it will be aired on Amazon Prime Video in that country, and three months after the end of the first season, it will be aired in the rest of the region on the online platform.
“Exactly as it happened with Monzón in Argentina, an indisputable success on the Space screen, we are sure that the Brazilian audience will embrace the story of its idol, popular from the first episode. Walter Salles talent and that of the entire Gullane and VideoFilmes team, make Hermanos Freitas an unmissable production in each one of its episodes,” mentioned Tomás Yankelevich, Executive VP & CCO General Entertainment at Turner Latin America.
Roberto Birindelli, María Flor, Julio Machado, Rui Ricardo Dias, Vinícius de Oliveira, Antônio Pitanga, Gero Camilo and Marina de La Riva, among others, also act in the production.
The series was created by Sergio Machado and Walter Salles, directed by Sérgio Machado and Aly Muritiba, and supervised by Walter Salles.
