Colombian director and producer Andrés Biermann has been appointed executive director of Content Development at Sony Pictures Television Latin America, reporting to Ana Bond, head of this division.
PRODU has been following the career of Biermann for about 15 years since he directed the novel Sin Vergüenza for Telemundo, and also when he was hired by TV Azteca to direct Eternamente Tuya.
He also made PRODU headlines when he became the director of Amar y Temer, the Caracol and Sony co-production, a period novel with considerable international success. He directed for Televisa and RTI, El Chivo. For Sony / Teleset, Metastasis, exhibited simultaneously by Unimás, Univisión and Galavisión in 2014. A year later he was the director of Anónima, also for Sony / Teleset.
For Caracol, Biermann as a director teamed-up as a duo with the executive producer Manuel Peñaloza, making La Pelea del Siglo, La Dinastía, Las Muñecas de la Mafia, Martín Elías, Loquito por Ti, El Hijo del Cacique.
He most recently was responsible for the general production of La Reina del Flow season 2 for Sony Pictures for Caracol TV and Netflix.
