Ángela Vergara becomes managing director of Sony Pictures Television’s Teleset

Sony Pictures Television Latin America’s production company Teleset announced that president José Antonio de Brigard will transition to the role of senior creative officer for the production business. In this new strategic role, Brigard will work with SPT and Teleset to develop new Spanish-language content for the Latin American and U.S. Hispanic markets.“Through thoughtful leadership and years of hard work, José Antonio has built Teleset into the regional production powerhouse it is today,” said Andrea Wong, president of international production for Sony Pictures Television (SPT) and president of International for Sony Pictures Entertainment. “We feel incredibly fortunate that he will continue to guide us strategically as senior creative officer as the studio continues to grow content development across the Latin American and U.S. Hispanic markets.”In addition, Ángela Vergara has been named managing director of Teleset, where she will oversee the company’s production businesses in Colombia and Mexico, reporting into Angélica Guerra, senior vice president and managing director, Production, Latin America and U.S. Hispanic for SPT.“Ángela is the whole package – a trusted executive with financial and operations savvy who also has an innate understanding of the evolving Latin American production landscape,” says Guerra. “She will be a superb leader for our operations in Colombia and Mexico, and we will leverage her sound guidance and expertise to shepherd Teleset through this period of unprecedented expansion.”
