Atresmedia Internacional, focused on expanding the distribution of its OTT atresplayer in 2024, recently concluded several agreements in Uruguay for the platform.
Mar Martínez-Raposo, director of Atresmedia Internacional, announced the launch of atresplayer in Uruguay’s main telco, Antel, and with two important cable operators in the country, Montecable and TCC. She added that another operator from Uruguay will soon join.
“Our idea with atresplayer is to reach these agreements with the operators to increase the number of subscribers directly to the consumer. This has been an interesting achievement. We will expand to other countries we are working with. This will be our main focus this year,” she said.
She highlighted that the Content Americas market was satisfactory for the company and allowed them to “start the year strong with ideas and new projects, new relationships and projects that may happen in the coming months.”
Regarding the recently renewed content agreement with Globo for Atreseries, Martínez indicated: “Globo provides us with telenovelas, some are great productions. It is a big contribution to the channel and fits very well with Atresmedia’s content and with our complementary productions. We are very happy.”
