Diana Borbón, International Sales Manager at Atresmedia, presented their programming catalog in which two of their new series stand out: Presunto Culpable and Matadero.
Presunto Culpable is a 13-episode drama, starring Miguel Ángel Muñoz, that tells the story of a man whose girlfriend disappeared years ago. When his father commits suicide, he returns to the town where everyone thinks he is a murderer, and with the help of a friend from his childhood who is a policewoman, he tries to investigate what happened with his missing girlfriend.
For his part, Matadero is the channel’s other strong bet and it is about a man who has a pig slaughterhouse and is a drug dealer from Portugal to Galicia in the pigs’ stomachs. “It has a touch of Tarantino’s style, there are very graphic images and lots of blood on the scene. It is a risky bet we are making, but it will surely do well,” explained the executive.
Both series are already being sold on Amazon for their broadcast on demand throughout Latin America, and it will also be the second window in Spanish territory, after being broadcast by Antena 3.
Borbón also reported there is great interest, both in Asia as well as in the Middle East, which is very important for the company, since they aren’t usually very present in those regions.
