Enrique Pérez, EVP of Azteca America Station Group
Azteca America has announced that Melissa Covarrubias will become the VP and general manager of Azteca Houston, KYAZ-TV.
Covarrubias, who has nearly 20 years of industry experience in the Houston market, will report to Enrique Pérez, EVP, Station Group, Azteca America.
“Melissa is a proven leader in Hispanic media sales and marketing with deep relationships in the Houston market,” commented Pérez. “Her unparalleled knowledge of the market and the industry make her the ideal fit to lead our Houston station. She will work closely with the community and our partners to deliver a deeper connection to our station and our programming.”
She served in various roles for Univision Communications Inc. in Houston over a period of 13 years, and most recently worked as VP of Sales and Marketing for ZipCast from 2014-2017 and special events consultant for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Houston/Galveston since 2016.
