Azteca America announces the debut of La Isla 2017
The start of the sixth season of La Isla will premiere on August 28 at 8pm/7C on Azteca America. This season brings together 21 participants from different social strata who will arrive on the coast of the Dominican Republic to fight for survival under the same harsh circumstances.
The participants are divided into three groups. Each group must defeat the others in different tests of physical and mental ability in order to avoid a trial that ends with the elimination of a contestant from the losing team.
La Isla 2017 will feature 21 challengers divided among three different teams, each corresponding to their social status: La Banda, Los Godínez, and Los Pudientes.
La Banda is composed mostly of working-class contestants consisting of Laura (hostess), Gabriela (makeup artist), Yuriko (engineer), Luis (lifeguard), Miguel (fitness trainer), Adrián (former member of the military), and Silverio (artist working in Pre-Columbian Mexican traditions).
The mostly white-collar workers of Los Godínez are Teresa (real estate specialist), Antonieta (communications specialist), Carmen (homemaker), Aristeo (parkour instructor), Víctor (police officer), Sebastián (criminology student), and Manuel (marketer).
Finally, the well-to-do team of Los Pudientes is composed of Fernanda (host), Andrea (host and actress), Ayra (interior designer), Nassar (entrepreneur), Juan Carlos (producer), Isidro (entrepreneur), and Facundo (host).
