Azteca América launches campaign encouraging Latinos to vote

With the goal of educating and encouraging the Hispanic community to exercise their right to vote, Azteca América and Grupo Salinas are partnering with Voto Latino for a multimedia informational campaign. The campaign will include public service announcements, which will air on Azteca América, a web-based campaign on {www.fundacionaztecaamerica.org;www.fundacionaztecaamerica.org} and printed materials that will be distributed by Azteca América affiliated stations in 75 markets throughout the country.“Our commitment to incorporating more Latinos into the electoral process is one of the cornerstones of our activities” said Luis J. Echarte, chairman of Azteca América. “The United States is a changing landscape and it’s important to make sure that our community is represented.” The network will also actively participate in the forums planned in Washington DC, Charlotte, and Tampa Bay in order to address the issues affecting the Latino community and emphasize how the Latino vote is an important part of the US electoral process.Pushing for the support of immigrant rights and reform, Azteca América will stress the important role that immigrants have played in the development of the United States under the campaign theme I too am America.
