Azteca América will present the premiere of its new telenovela Mujer comprada on November 1st at 10pm. The intense love story marks the return of international stars José Ángel Llamas, Gaby Vergara, Héctor Bonilla, and the first starring role of Mexican actress Andrea Martí, to TV in the United States. To what lengths would a woman determined to keep her husband be willing to go? What would a young woman be willing to do if she desperately needed money to keep her mother alive? It is a story of what happens when a man and a woman are brought together by destiny.“Mujer comprada is an untraditional and controversial super production, part of the new era in Azteca América telenovelas. This high-quality production, with internationally known stars, tells the story of a young woman who decides to become a surrogate mother in exchange for the money she needs to save her mother’s life. That is how this character, played by a great young actress who has risen through the ranks at TV Azteca, becomes a ‘bought woman’ (mujer comprada),” said Alberto Santini Lara, Executive Vice President of Programming, Production, and Marketing for Azteca América and General Director of Azteca 13 and Azteca Novelas. This is the story of Angélica Valdéz (Andrea Martí), a responsible 23-year-old woman who dreams of marrying her boyfriend Daniel. As a result of the global economic recession, she loses her job. Her already tenuous situation becomes more complicated when her mother develops a heart condition. Angélica meets Laura Herrera de Díaz-Lozano (Gaby Vergara), a sterile woman desperate to keep her husband who offers Angélica a proposal: to be a surrogate mother in exchange for the money needed to help her mother.
