Azteca is launching auditions on June 2 to form part of its most ambitious project of 2012, Generacion de la Década of La academia. Alberto Santini, general director of Azteca 13 and Azteca Novelas, assured that the special guests will be former members, and that La Toya Jackson might be part of the program and recording the winning album. “La Academia is a program that every network should have because it’s a window for the whole world to exhibit its talents. We want to celebrate the 10 years with different festivities. We’ll be inviting representatives of the 10 academies that will act as mentors, because we’d like to have a nostalgic program in which the people remember each generation” Santini said. Without revealing too many details, Santini mentioned that the network is preparing some specials, something like an album and a tour, and also, he commented that they are in discussions with La Toya Jackson about being invited to the show as part of this generation. She’d be the one to record the winner’s album for the show, which will begin transmissions in September. “I met with her because she has a record label in alliance with Universal, and she told me that La Academia is the best thing that has happened and she offered to record the winner’s album. It’s great that bring the star that she is, she’d like to be with us” he added.
